On April 30, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government unveiled the Action Plan for Enhancing the Development Energy Level of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle (2026-2030). The plan outlines a strategic vision to foster a mutually reinforcing relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and the "Digital Chengdu-Chongqing" initiative. It emphasizes exploring synergistic cooperation among key components such as computing power, data resources, application scenarios, and policy ecosystems within the Sichuan-Chongqing region. This collaborative effort aims to bolster the research, development, application, and industrialization of AI technologies in the Chengdu-Chongqing area. By 2030, the intelligent computing power capacity of the Chengdu-Chongqing computing hub node is projected to hit 100,000 P (PetaFLOPS), accompanied by the establishment of more than 10 pilot bases for AI industry applications across the city. Furthermore, the plan envisions nurturing 20 vertical large models with national influence and 5 major projects, positioning the region to lead the western part of the country in daily token invocation volume.
