On Monday, UK-based AI firm Ineffable Intelligence declared the successful closure of its seed funding round, amassing an impressive $1.1 billion. This achievement sets a new benchmark as the largest seed funding ever recorded in Europe, propelling the company's valuation to an astonishing $5.1 billion. The funding endeavor was jointly spearheaded by Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed Capital, with significant contributions from esteemed Silicon Valley investors, including NVIDIA and Google, alongside support from the UK government. Notably, the British Business Bank independently injected $20 million into the venture. Ineffable Intelligence, established in late 2025 by former DeepMind researcher David Silver, is dedicated to developing a "super-evolver" AI system. Demonstrating a commitment to social responsibility, Silver has pledged to donate his personal equity earnings. Echoing this sentiment, the UK Secretary of State for Technology emphasized that the investment is geared towards bolstering pioneering AI enterprises and underscoring the UK's unwavering resolve to emerge as a global AI innovation hub.
