Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama stated that the working group will collaborate with banks to address potential cybersecurity threats posed by Anthropic PBC's latest AI model, Mythos. Following a meeting with the heads of three major banks, the Governor of the Bank of Japan, and the CEO of Japan Exchange Group, Katayama noted that the financial system's high interconnectivity means that cyberattacks could trigger a crisis of confidence, posing a clear and present danger. He also proposed the establishment of a Japanese version of Anthropic's 'Project Glasswing,' which received agreement from all parties present.
