The buzz surrounding the claim that “a couple earns 2 million yuan annually by writing for WeChat official accounts using AI” has captured widespread attention. However, it has come to light that the majority of their earnings stem from collecting deposits rather than from traffic-based advertising. This revelation has sparked concerns regarding the potential repercussions for the established content creation model. In response, the WeChat team clarified that the WeChat Official Accounts Platform champions content creation by genuine individuals and stands firmly against content production that is entirely automated. To address this issue, new regulations specifically targeting “non-human automated content creation” have been rolled out. Violators will face penalties, the severity of which will depend on the circumstances of their infraction. Furthermore, Hongguo Short Drama has also released a statement, revealing that in the first quarter alone, it removed 1,718 non-compliant comic dramas, undertook special governance initiatives, reviewed 15,000 works, addressed 670 non-compliant pieces, and took stringent action against the illegal utilization of AI-generated short drama materials.
