According to foreign media reports on April 9, Anthony Armstrong, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI, has left his position, just about six months after taking office in October 2025. Armstrong, a former banker at Morgan Stanley, joined xAI to oversee data center construction and a $20 billion funding round. Following SpaceX's acquisition of xAI, he shifted to reporting to Brett Johansen, CFO of the merged company. Recently, most of xAI's senior management team members, including several co-founders, have departed.
