According to the Prospective Report on the Commercialization of Brain-Computer Interfaces in China, jointly published by Beijing’s Fourth Wave Technology Think Tank and the Zhongguancun Tiancheng Innovation Research Center, financing for brain-computer interface (BCI) companies has surged since 2025. Notably, the total capital raised in the first three months of 2026 already exceeds the entire year’s funding for 2025. Key cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen have launched dedicated funds to accelerate BCI sector growth. Specifically, Beijing established the ‘Zhongguancun Science City Technology Growth Phase IV Fund’ with an 8 billion yuan investment scale, while Shanghai initiated a multi-billion-yuan special fund for brain science and brain-inspired intelligence. Shenzhen has also rolled out several targeted funds, prioritizing R&D and industrialization in critical areas such as flexible electrodes and high-throughput chips.
