This is because higher bandwidth translates to lower transmission costs per bit, minimized energy consumption, and more compact hardware designs. The swift expansion of the 800G optical module market already underscores the pressing need for increased bandwidth in AI applications. Looking ahead, it is anticipated that by 2026, the demand for 800G optical modules will sustain its rapid growth trajectory. Concurrently, there will be a notable surge in the shipment volumes of 1.6T optical modules, and R&D efforts for 3.2T optical modules will also be underway.
