On March 1, as reported by domaininvesting, OpenAI seems to have secured the domain name GPT.com. Now, when you visit this domain, you'll be automatically redirected to ChatGPT.com. Recall that last year, OpenAI also acquired the Chat.com domain, which similarly redirects users to the ChatGPT website. GPT, as you may know, stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer. Presently, GPT.com is registered under the corporate domain registrar MarkMonitor, with DNStination Inc. listed as the registrant. DNStination Inc. is actually MarkMonitor's provider of Whois privacy protection services. So, we can't jump to the conclusion that OpenAI is the direct owner of this domain just yet. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that GPT.com was transferred to MarkMonitor at the close of 2025 and has only recently started redirecting traffic to the ChatGPT website. Prior to this, the domain was directing users to the website of the Australian company, Global Payment Technologies Australia Pty Ltd.
