A senior Pentagon official revealed that US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is on the verge of severing business cooperation with artificial intelligence company Anthropic and labeling it as a 'supply chain risk party.' This implies that any enterprise wishing to conduct business with the US military must sever ties with Anthropic. The Pentagon has accused Anthropic of imposing stringent restrictions on the military's use of its tools, including prohibiting their use for large-scale surveillance of Americans and the development of autonomous weapons. Anthropic's Claude model is currently the only artificial intelligence model that can be used in the military's classified systems.
