On February 16th, reports emerged indicating that Paramount SkyDance issued a cease-and-desist letter to ByteDance last Saturday (February 14th). The letter accuses ByteDance's Seedance video generation platform and Seedream image generation AI platforms of unlawfully infringing upon the intellectual property rights associated with its works. This includes well-known intellectual properties (IPs) such as [specific IP names can be inserted here if available], and demands that ByteDance promptly halt the infringement and remove all infringing content. Prior to this, Disney had also leveled accusations against ByteDance, alleging unauthorized use of its works in the training and development of the Seedance 2.0 model. In response, ByteDance stated that Seedance 2.0 is currently in a limited pre-release testing phase, has temporarily disabled the feature allowing users to upload real-person images, and has implemented measures to mitigate risks.
