UK Prime Minister Starmer is set to ramp up efforts to curb the dissemination of harmful content via AI chatbots, guaranteeing their adherence to legislation safeguarding children's online security. The UK government will mandate all AI chatbot providers to scrutinize and avert the spread of illicit content, in line with the stipulations of the Online Safety Bill. Starmer is scheduled to unveil this initiative during a speech on Monday. Presently, the law is applicable solely to platforms facilitating user-generated content sharing, like social media, and does not encompass private chatbots.
