On February 11, foreign media cited two informed sources stating that ByteDance is developing AI chips and is in discussions with Samsung Electronics for foundry cooperation to secure a supply of advanced processors. ByteDance plans to receive chip samples by the end of March, produce at least 100,000 chips for AI inference tasks this year, and gradually increase production to 350,000 units. Additionally, ByteDance hopes to obtain memory chips from Samsung, which are in short supply. A ByteDance spokesperson stated that the information about the chip project is inaccurate but did not provide further details, while Samsung declined to comment.
