Recently, internal emails that came to light during a legal proceeding in New Mexico unveiled that Meta's CEO, Zuckerberg, gave serious thought to revising the company's methodology for research and data analysis concerning social issues. This contemplation arose after revelations about Meta's own research, which highlighted Instagram's detrimental effects on the mental well-being of teenage girls. Previously, Meta faced allegations of consistently overlooking safety hazards for minors, with internal studies substantiating that Instagram intensified mental health struggles among adolescents. Despite these findings, the company withheld the results and discontinued the pertinent research. Within the emails, Zuckerberg also raised queries about Apple, suggesting that the latter faced less oversight owing to its lenient content moderation policies.
