On January 22, Elon Musk made his first appearance at the Davos World Economic Forum, participating in a thought-provoking dialogue with Larry Fink, the forum's Co-Chair. During his roughly 30-minute address, Musk delved into a futuristic vision propelled by robotics, outlined his ambitious plans for traveling to Mars, and shared his perspectives on the fight against aging. He posited that while preventing aging might not be inherently challenging, halting the aging process entirely could have unintended negative consequences. Moreover, Musk re-emphasized that Tesla's humanoid robot, Optimus, is slated to hit the market for public purchase by the end of 2027. He assured that by that time, the robot would boast exceptional reliability, robust safety features, and a diverse array of functionalities.
