On January 21st, news emerged that the Suzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China has unveiled a proposal for crafting Suzhou's 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development. This proposal envisions transforming Suzhou into a premier 'AI+' metropolis, accelerating the Digital Suzhou initiative, and capitalizing on the establishment of a national pilot zone for next-generation AI innovation and development, as well as an AI-driven new industrialization pilot zone, to fully realize the potential of the 'AI+' strategy. Suzhou aims to set up a national pilot base for AI application experiments (specifically within the manufacturing sector), harnessing AI to catalyze a holistic transformation and modernization of its manufacturing landscape. Furthermore, the city is committed to fostering the synergistic and balanced progression of AI-powered groundbreaking scientific research, technological innovation, engineering execution, and product commercialization. It is also keen on actively embracing cutting-edge application technologies, including AI chips and quantum computing, while simultaneously advancing the development and widespread adoption of vertical models.
