Google has recently forged a strategic partnership with Walmart, aiming to infuse its AI assistant, Gemini, with a richer array of products and shopping experiences sourced from Walmart and Sam’s Club. When American users pose relevant queries, they will be presented with tailored product recommendations, encompassing both online and in-store purchasing avenues. Moreover, users have the option to link their personal accounts, enabling Gemini to offer personalized suggestions rooted in their past order history. This innovative feature was predominantly crafted by Walmart, harnessing the power of its recently unveiled Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP). Other key collaborators in this venture encompass Shopify, Etsy, and Wayfair, to name a few. The enhanced shopping experience is set to debut in the U.S. market initially, with a phased rollout planned for global expansion.
