Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech. He expounded on Qualcomm's vision for personal AI, a vision developed in collaboration with partners like Lenovo. He highlighted that next-generation personal AI devices would harness technologies, such as on-device AI, to comprehend users' surroundings and intentions in real-time.
Amon is convinced that smart wearable devices, as a burgeoning category of mobile terminals, will coexist alongside smartphones. He anticipates that the market size for these devices will soar to billions of units, heralding a fresh opportunity for the convergence of the technology and fashion industries. Currently, Qualcomm is working in tandem with Lenovo and Motorola to develop a diverse range of smart wearable devices. Snapdragon chips are already adept at running models with billions of parameters, and there is a relentless pursuit of innovation in connectivity technologies.
Amon also forecasted that edge data holds tremendous value. He posited that companies proficient in harnessing its transformational potential would distinguish themselves in the AI competition. Moreover, Qualcomm's collaboration with Lenovo spans multiple domains, including smartphones and AI PCs.
