On January 5, Beijing rolled out a strategic blueprint, dubbed the 'Nine Key Initiatives,' aimed at propelling the city into a premier global hub for artificial intelligence (AI) innovation. This comprehensive plan zeroes in on nine pivotal domains, encompassing technological breakthroughs, widespread application, and embodied intelligence.

It envisions the creation of multiple national-level AI application pilot bases spanning healthcare, manufacturing, and education sectors, alongside the construction of a cutting-edge pilot platform for humanoid robots and intelligent factories.

Furthermore, Haidian, Chaoyang, Shijingshan districts, and the Economic Development Zone have been earmarked as the inaugural batch of innovation hubs. Additionally, a China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization National AI Application Cooperation Center is set to be established, fostering international collaboration.

The initiative also aims to cultivate an embodied intelligence industrial cluster with a scale of hundreds of billions of yuan through coordinated development across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Within the next two years, Beijing anticipates the construction of a domestic intelligent computing cluster with a capacity of 100,000 cards, the deployment of over 100 benchmark AI applications, and the accumulation of industrial investment funds exceeding 200 billion yuan.

These efforts are projected to propel the core AI industry's scale beyond one trillion yuan, cementing Beijing's status as a global beacon for AI innovation and offering robust impetus to China's burgeoning AI sector.
