As reported by The Verge, AI recording device maker Plaud has rolled out the enhanced NotePin S. This new iteration retains the FitBit-esque design while incorporating physical buttons: a prolonged press initiates recording, and a brief press inserts highlight markers. This addresses the problem of inadvertent errors stemming from the touch-based controls of its predecessor. The packaging encompasses accessories like wristbands and lanyards. The concurrently launched Plaud Desktop application is compatible with macOS and Windows, facilitating automatic or manual audio recording from online meetings on platforms such as Zoom, Meet, and Teams. It utilizes the same transcription and summary models as the hardware device, ensuring a smooth amalgamation of online and offline meeting records. The NotePin S is priced at $179, and the production of the original NotePin will be phased out over time. Existing users can download and use Plaud Desktop free of charge.
