A semiconductor and AI industry research and analysis firm revealed that AI company Anthropic plans to directly purchase nearly 1 million TPU v7p 'Ironwood' AI chips from Broadcom and deploy them in its own data centers. Broadcom will directly provide Anthropic with rack-level AI systems based on TPU v7p, bypassing Google, the other developer. However, Google is expected to still generate revenue through IP licensing. Previously, Broadcom's CEO confirmed that Anthropic has placed orders totaling $21 billion for AI systems from Broadcom. Among Anthropic's TPU computing power system deployments, three companies, including TeraWulf, are responsible for providing infrastructure, while Fluidstack handles on-site deployment services.
