On December 26, Beijing witnessed the inaugural meeting of the Technical Committee for Standardization of Humanoid Robots and Embodied Artificial Intelligence (hereinafter referred to as "the Standardization Committee"), established under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Ke Jixin, Vice Minister of the Ministry, emphasized that the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China places significant importance on the advancement of emerging industries, including humanoid robots and embodied AI. The timely formation of the Standardization Committee is crucial. It is imperative to enhance the development of high-quality standards, foster a collaborative ecosystem for joint development, and take proactive steps in international standardization planning.

Xu Xiaolan, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, highlighted that humanoid robots embody the convergence of multiple technologies. The Chinese Institute of Electronics will prioritize the establishment of an "agile and iterative" mechanism for standard development, reinforce a "full-chain" collaborative ecosystem, deepen an "application-oriented" implementation mechanism for standards, and drive the creation of a "leading" standard system. Xie Shaofeng, Chairman of the Standardization Committee, noted that the committee will concentrate on pivotal areas to drive breakthroughs, such as open-source projects, and expedite the development of a comprehensive standard system. The Secretariat of the Standardization Committee will be based at the Chinese Institute of Electronics. Committee members comprise representatives from government agencies, universities, research institutions, and renowned industry enterprises, with enterprise members constituting over 50% of the total.
