On December 26, the kick-off meeting for the Standardization Technical Committee for Humanoid Robots and Embodied AI, operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, took place in Beijing. Ke Jixin, a member of the Party Group and Vice Minister at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, alongside Xu Xiaolan, President of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, were in attendance and gave speeches. Xie Shaofeng, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Chairman of the Standardization Technical Committee, also joined the proceedings. Officials from the Ministry's Department of Science and Technology read aloud the announcement regarding the establishment of the Standardization Technical Committee. The formation of this committee is designed to harness the guiding power of standards, boost the availability of top-tier standards, and facilitate the advancement and deployment of humanoid robots and embodied AI technologies. Its main duties encompass the creation and refinement of industry standards in domains such as foundational principles, pivotal technologies, components, complete systems, applications, and safety. The secretariat of the committee will be based at the Chinese Institute of Electronics. Additionally, the Standardization Technical Committee held its inaugural plenary session for its first term.
