On December 18, ByteDance formally introduced the enterprise version of its AI programming tool, TRAE CN. This tool has achieved an impressively high adoption rate within ByteDance, with more than 92% of its engineers making use of it. The personal version has also attracted over 6 million registered users. Internal practices at ByteDance reveal that within the Douyin (the Chinese equivalent of TikTok) Life Services team, TRAE is responsible for generating over 43% of the code through AI. In light of the four key challenges that enterprises typically encounter—namely, performance, deployment adaptability, efficiency monitoring, and code security—the enterprise version of TRAE CN has undergone thorough enhancements. It can handle up to 100,000 files and 150 million lines of code; it offers full-scenario business adaptability, ranging from knowledge bases to Agents; it enables real-time efficiency monitoring and management; and it ensures end-to-end code encryption during transmission with no cloud storage involved, thereby safeguarding enterprise security and compliance.
