On December 13, Guangzhou played host to the grand opening ceremony of the 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area AI and Robotics Industry Conference, along with the Guangdong Provincial AI and Robotics Skills Competition. During this significant event, two key reports were unveiled: the 2025 Guangdong Provincial AI and Robotics Industry Development White Paper and the AIR Pearl River Index Report (2025). According to these reports, as of November 2025, Guangdong Province has witnessed an impressive proliferation of AI and robotics enterprises, with the total number surpassing 3,700. This figure encompasses over 2,000 core AI enterprises, more than 350 national-level specialized and sophisticated "Little Giant" enterprises (a term used in China to refer to small but highly innovative and competitive companies), and over 150 listed companies. When it comes to industrial scale, the core AI industry in Guangdong achieved remarkable growth, reaching a value of RMB 220 billion in 2024. This represents a substantial year-on-year increase of approximately 22%. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by the intelligent robotics industry in the province stood at an impressive RMB 99.2 billion.
