The industry widely holds the view that next year will mark a pivotal period for the large-scale rollout of humanoid robots. To foster the sound growth of this sector, the National Development and Reform Commission announced today that, in tandem with the formulation of specialized plans for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, it will propel the standardized advancement of the embodied AI industry and hasten the utilization of embodied AI agents in practical settings. Li Chao, a spokesperson for the National Development and Reform Commission, highlighted that, at present, humanoid robots are still in a nascent stage concerning technical approaches, commercialization strategies, and application domains. As new capital floods into the market, China is now home to over 150 humanoid robot companies, with the count steadily climbing. More than half of these entities are either startups or firms venturing into this field from other industries.
