Elon Musk took to the X platform to declare that the advanced AI large model, Grok 5, will go head-to-head with top-tier human teams in the popular game League of Legends in 2026. To ensure a fair contest, stringent rules have been established. These include limiting the AI's view to a camera with a field of vision no broader than that of an average human, and ensuring that its response latency and click speed do not surpass human capabilities. The head of research and deep learning at Google DeepMind suggested switching the competition game to StarCraft, a proposal that Musk endorsed. The official X account of Grok also embraced this new challenge. During this month's investment conference, Musk voiced his unwavering confidence in Grok 5, asserting that it will excel across various metrics and emerge as the most intelligent artificial intelligence. xAI is set to unveil the Grok 5 model in 2026, boasting a staggering 6 trillion parameters—double the size of its predecessors, Grok 3 and Grok 4.
