Recently, Baidu AI's consumer-facing (ToC) division has undergone a fresh round of organizational changes. Notably, Xue Su, who served as Baidu's Vice President and the leader of the AI Innovation Business, has relinquished his role as the head of the Wenxin App. The individual who has succeeded him in this position has already commenced duties. However, due to non-compete clauses, the new head is currently participating in meetings remotely, and their identity remains undisclosed.
Xue Su brought a wealth of experience to Baidu, having previously worked at Kuaishou, where he oversaw the short drama, anime, and sports segments. On May 30, 2024, he took the helm as the leader of Baidu's NewApp, a move widely interpreted as a significant indicator of Baidu's intensified focus on AI products tailored for the consumer market (C-end).
In other developments at Baidu, during the Baidu World Conference held on November 13, Ping Xiaoli, who heads Baidu's e-commerce operations, and Wang Ying, who is at the helm of Baidu Wenku and Baidu Netdisk, were both elevated to the position of Vice Presidents within the Baidu Group. Furthermore, Baidu officially unveiled its latest iteration, the Wenxin Large Model 5.0, marking another milestone in its AI journey.
