GMI Cloud, a U.S.-based provider of AI cloud computing services, has announced plans to invest US$500 million in the construction of a data center in Taiwan, China. This strategic move positions GMI Cloud alongside tech giants like Google in offering cloud services tailored to the needs of the global chip manufacturing hub.

Established in 2023, GMI Cloud harnesses the power of NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform as its cornerstone. It provides a comprehensive, full-stack AI infrastructure that encompasses everything from fundamental GPU hardware to advanced applications at the upper layers. This includes its proprietary Cluster Engine cluster management platform and Inference Engine.

Currently, GMI Cloud's services span across multiple regions, including the United States, Taiwan, China, Thailand, and Malaysia. The company supports high-end GPU clusters such as the H100 and H200, boasting a total scale that approaches ten thousand cards. This latest investment is set to further solidify GMI Cloud's global presence in the AI computing market.
