The goal is to raise $15 billion, a figure that exceeds the initial projection by $3 billion. This bond issuance was structured into six tranches, with the longest - term bond having a maturity of 40 years. At one stage, it drew in subscriptions worth a staggering $80 billion. The proceeds from this issuance will be allocated to various purposes, including acquisitions, capital expenditures, and stock repurchases. It's worth noting that prior to this, other tech behemoths like Alphabet (the parent company of Google), Meta, and Oracle had also opted for bond issuances to finance the expansion of their AI infrastructure.
