On November 12, 2025, ByteDance's AI programming tool, TRAE, made a significant announcement with the launch of its SOLO official version. Dubbed as "The Responsive Coding Agent," this new iteration is designed to offer professional developers a cutting-edge AI programming experience. It boasts real-time responsiveness, perceptiveness, the ability to be controlled at any given moment, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

As of today, the SOLO official version is fully accessible to users of the TRAE international edition. Moreover, a limited-time free trial campaign is currently in progress, providing an excellent opportunity for developers to explore its capabilities.

Building upon the Beta version released in July, the SOLO official version introduces a host of functional upgrades. Among these is the new SOLO Coder agent, which excels in handling complex tasks. Additionally, it comes equipped with core capabilities such as multi-task parallelism, context compression, and code modification, further enhancing its versatility.

The SOLO official version features a user-friendly three-column layout, comprising a multi-task list, a conversation flow window, and a tool panel. This layout empowers developers to work on different functional modules simultaneously, thereby boosting development efficiency.

Furthermore, the SOLO official version seamlessly integrates core tools such as databases, AI services, deployment, and payment systems. This integration significantly reduces the cost for users who would otherwise have to switch between multiple platforms, streamlining the development process.

The TRAE platform currently offers two distinct development modes: IDE and SOLO, catering to the diverse needs of different scenarios. The IDE mode enhances AI programming capabilities, including intelligent Q&A and code auto-completion, while preserving developers' original development workflows. In contrast, the SOLO mode is driven by AI, capable of comprehending development goals, retaining contextual information, and intelligently scheduling tools to independently advance development tasks from requirement understanding to code implementation.
