On November 13, at the Baidu World Conference, Li Yanhong, the founder of Baidu, remarked that the structure of the AI industry is undergoing a transformation, shifting from an unhealthy "positive pyramid" to a more robust and sustainable "inverted pyramid". Traditionally, the AI industry's framework resembled a positive pyramid, where the foundational layer of chips accounted for the lion's share of the value, while the economic returns from models and applications positioned higher up in the pyramid diminished progressively. This industrial setup was deemed unhealthy and unsustainable, leading to widespread market skepticism about the existence of an AI bubble.

Li Yanhong elaborated that an "inverted pyramid" structure implies that, irrespective of the profits amassed by chip manufacturers, the models constructed atop these chips must generate tenfold the value. Furthermore, applications developed based on these models ought to create a hundredfold the value, thereby embodying a thriving and balanced industrial ecosystem.
