This infrastructure will facilitate the seamless development, training, and deployment of AI models tailored specifically for drug discovery endeavors.
However, it's important to note that the project may not deliver substantial returns in the immediate future. The true benefits of this technological leap are anticipated to materialize only by the year 2030. At present, AI-driven drug development remains in its nascent stages. While no AI-designed drugs have successfully made it to market yet, there is a steady uptick in the number of AI-discovered drugs entering clinical trials, signaling a promising trend.
Eli Lilly also has plans to harness the capabilities of this supercomputer to streamline drug development cycles and propel the progress of precision medicine. A suite of AI models will be made accessible through Eli Lilly's Lilly TuneLab platform, with the overarching goal of broadening industry access to cutting-edge drug discovery tools.
