As reported by Xinhua News Agency, the China Internet Network Information Center unveiled the "Report on the Development of Generative Artificial Intelligence Applications (2025)" at the 6th China Internet Infrastructure Resources Conference. According to the report, by June 2025, the number of users engaging with generative artificial intelligence in China had surged to 515 million. This marks a significant increase of 266 million from December 2024, translating to a penetration rate of 36.5%. Notably, young and middle-aged individuals under the age of 40 constitute a substantial 74.6% of this user base, while those with higher education degrees make up 37.5%.

In a striking display of national preference, over 90% of users opt for domestic large models. The versatility of generative artificial intelligence is evident in its widespread application across various domains, including intelligent search, content creation, and office assistance. Moreover, its influence is steadily expanding into new frontiers such as agricultural production and industrial manufacturing.
