On September 26th, the Taobao Vision Future Flagship Store made its debut in Shanghai, drawing a large crowd of consumers eager to partake in groundbreaking interactive experiences, including the 'flying car' and 'scent visualization'. Leveraging the cutting-edge 'AI+3D+XR' technologies, this flagship store empowers brands with innovative solutions to amplify the efficiency of their physical retail spaces. It enables the boundless showcasing of Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) within confined areas, granting customers the freedom to choose and customize products at will.
During the grand opening ceremony, Zhao Kun, the head of Taobao's website and XR business, alongside his 1:1 digital doppelgänger Gauss, proclaimed the official launch of the Shanghai store, which will offer complimentary access for the initial two months. Earlier in June of this year, the inaugural concept store commenced its trial run at Alibaba's headquarters. With the Shanghai store now open, the Taobao Vision Future Flagship Store has officially embarked on its nationwide rollout, with plans to soon unveil offline venues in cities such as Shenzhen, Changsha, and Zhengzhou.
Previously, Taobao Vision has forged partnerships with renowned brands like DJI and Xiaomi Automobile for projects encompassing spatial test flights and test drives. This time around, it teamed up with Yuyi to pioneer the 'spatial scent testing' experience and collaborated with HT Aero to craft China's inaugural virtual encounter with a 'flying car'. In the perfume selection zone, users donning Apple Vision Pro headsets can view images of perfumers. After sampling the fragrance, the top, middle, and base notes are vividly displayed in a 3D format. During the flying car experience, the 1:1 replica model of HT Aero's land aircraft carrier exudes a high degree of realism, and users can subsequently engage in vehicle-aircraft separation and witness the takeoff of a six-rotor aircraft.
Additionally, the Xiaomi SU7 virtual test drive was also on offer at the venue. Within the flagship store, patrons can also indulge in the 3D red packet rain game and engage in dialogues with the virtual shopping assistant, Taobao's digital avatar TaoAvatar. Taobao stands as the pioneering Chinese e-commerce shopping app accessible on Apple Vision Pro, delivering a 3D immersive spatial shopping adventure. In June of this year, it clinched the prestigious 2025 Apple Design Award.
