According to Jiemian News, on September 24, 2025, during the Cloud Town Conference in Hangzhou, Wu Yongming, CEO of Alibaba Group and also serving as Chairman & CEO of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group, delivered a pivotal keynote address. For the first time, he offered a comprehensive exposition on the development trajectory of Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) and introduced Alibaba Cloud's strategic AI roadmap, sparking significant interest across the tech sector.

Wu Yongming emphasized that while the attainment of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is inevitable, it merely marks the starting line. The ultimate ambition is to cultivate Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) that is capable of self-improvement and surpassing human capabilities in all respects. He outlined a three-stage progression towards ASI: intelligent emergence (drawing insights from human knowledge), autonomous action (providing support to humans), and self-iteration (outpacing human performance).

Wu Yongming further posited that large-scale AI models are poised to become the next-generation operating systems, ushering in an era where super AI clouds take on the role of the next-generation computing platforms. To realize this vision, Alibaba Cloud is vigorously pursuing the development of AI infrastructure, allocating RMB380 billion over a three-year period, with intentions to ramp up investments even further. By 2032, the energy consumption of Alibaba Cloud's global data centers is projected to soar to ten times the level recorded in 2022.
