In a report, Citi analyst Kyna Wong highlighted that OpenAI's initiative to create edge devices is likely to spur the expansion of Chinese hardware companies within Apple's supply chain. OpenAI is in the process of developing AI-powered 'companion' gadgets, including smart glasses, digital voice recorders, and wearable badges. The initial batch of these devices is anticipated to make its debut either by the end of 2026 or in early 2027. Moreover, OpenAI has already initiated contact with Apple's suppliers, such as Luxshare Precision and Goertek.
