On September 17, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region unveiled a fresh Policy Address. During a press conference held on the afternoon of the 20th, Cheuk Wing-hing, the Deputy Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong SAR Government, disclosed the work arrangements for the 'AI Efficiency Enhancement Team'. This dedicated team will conduct a thorough review of the business processes and technology application scenarios across various departments. Subsequently, it will put forward tailored solutions aimed at boosting service quality and operational efficiency.

The 'AI Efficiency Enhancement Team' is set to craft a comprehensive work plan and timeline in November this year, and will then present a report to the Chief Executive. Its overarching objective is to kickstart relevant projects in the coming year, roll out AI tools encompassing 100 government service processes by 2026, and introduce landmark AI projects during the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 fiscal years.
