According to Bank of America's estimations, the current cost of the bill of materials (BOM) for AI glasses stands at around $150. In contrast, the BOM cost for binocular AR glasses varies from over $400 to as high as $1,000. The substantial costs are mainly attributed to optical waveguides and microdisplays. Projections indicate that by 2030, the market size for smart glasses components will experience a significant expansion, rising from less than $1 billion in 2024 to over $14 billion. Among all stakeholders, core optical component suppliers are expected to be the primary beneficiaries.
