In the fiscal year 2025, Microsoft is set to allocate a staggering 80 billion US dollars towards the construction of AI infrastructure, with a clear objective: to amplify its AI training computing capabilities fivefold by 2026. The bulk of this substantial investment will be channeled into the expansion of data centers and the procurement of AI chips.
Mustafa Suleyman, who leads Microsoft's Consumer AI Business, revealed at a company-wide meeting that Microsoft is poised to make significant strides in bolstering its own computing power cluster. This strategic move is aimed at providing robust support for model training endeavors and positioning Microsoft to go head-to-head with formidable competitors in the AI arena, such as OpenAI and Anthropic.
