Following years of anticipation, Spotify has finally unveiled a premium lossless music streaming service tailored for its Premium users. Back in 2021, Spotify initially floated the idea of introducing a Hi-Fi audio quality tier. However, this initiative faced multiple delays, primarily due to copyright-related hurdles. Now, Spotify is providing paid subscribers with the ability to stream music in up to 24-bit/44.1kHz FLAC quality, a file format that ensures the original audio is preserved in its entirety, free from any compression. The company has announced that this lossless streaming service will be accessible in over 50 countries and regions by October. As of today, subscribers in Australia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, the United States, and the United Kingdom can already indulge in this high-fidelity audio experience.
