Anthropic has made an announcement declaring that it will promptly terminate the provision of Claude services to any groups where the majority stake is owned by Chinese capital, as well as to their subsidiaries. Furthermore, companies that are either directly or indirectly under the control of Chinese entities (with a shareholding ratio surpassing 50%) are also barred from accessing the service. This policy encompasses a wide range of organizations, including companies based in mainland China and their overseas-affiliated subsidiaries. Anthropic clarified that this measure is being implemented with the intention of mitigating potential legal, regulatory, and national security risks.
