The lawsuit between Beijing Meishe Network Technology Co., Ltd. and TikTok will be heard in court in the United States in October. The California federal judge rejected TikTok's motion for summary judgment or termination of sanctions. The case, involving allegations of trade secret theft and copyright infringement with claims amounting to $845 million, will commence a 12-day jury trial on October 27. Meishe accuses TikTok of using stolen code from a former employee. While TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, has had related lawsuits dismissed by the court, the core intellectual property lawsuit against TikTok will proceed.
