In a recent podcast interview, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff disclosed that the company has streamlined its operations by eliminating approximately 4,000 customer support positions and replacing them with AI agents. Benioff emphasized that the integration of AI has significantly downsized the support team, from 9,000 to roughly 5,000 employees. Presently, AI agents manage 50% of all customer interactions with Salesforce, with the remaining 50% handled by human agents. This AI integration has taken on between 30% and 50% of the company's workload, particularly in support and sales functions, resulting in a 17% reduction in Salesforce's support costs.
