On September 2, local time, OpenAI unveiled a reconfiguration of its executive leadership and the acquisition of Statsig, a leading product analytics firm. This transformation includes the creation of a novel position, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Applications, to be occupied by Vijay Raj, the founder and former CEO of Statsig. Statsig excels in product optimization services, particularly A/B testing, and the acquisition is estimated at $1.1 billion. Raj will now report directly to Figo Simo, OpenAI's CEO of Applications. OpenAI has confirmed that following the acquisition, Statsig's staff will seamlessly integrate into the OpenAI team, while Statsig will maintain its independent operations and continue serving its existing clientele from its Seattle headquarters.
