In a recent ruling, an Italian administrative court has significantly reduced the 1.13 billion euro fine imposed on Amazon in 2021 for abusing its dominant market position. While upholding the findings of the regulatory agency, the court deemed the additional 50% "discretionary fine" to be unjustified and lacking a reasonable basis. Consequently, it is anticipated that the final fine, after deducting this portion, may decrease to approximately 750 million euros. Amazon has yet to comment on this decision.
