Tesla has undergone a significant restructuring, disbanding its Dojo project, which was previously dedicated to autonomous driving training. The team members have been redistributed across various departments, including Robotaxi, humanoid robot development, and autonomous driving hardware research. Specifically, software experts have been integrated into the autonomous driving and AI team headed by Ashok Elluswamy, while chip engineers have transitioned to the development of AI5 chips. This termination signals a shift in Tesla's AI strategy, moving away from full-stack in-house development to a focus on autonomous driving and core model innovation.

Several factors contributed to the project's demise, including the stagnation in Dojo chip development, financial constraints, and the need to concentrate resources. Elon Musk has hinted that in the future, AI6 chips will serve a dual purpose for both training and inference, suggesting that the spirit of Dojo may persist in a new form.
