On August 14, the State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Company achieved a milestone by successfully implementing a demand response call for a million-level virtual power plant. For the first time, the measured maximum response load surpassed 1 million kilowatts, peaking at 1,162,700 kilowatts, thereby establishing a new record for Shanghai's virtual power plant system. This initiative aggregated resources from 47 virtual power plant operators across the city, encompassing diverse entities such as data centers, building air conditioning systems, electric vehicle charging stations, and battery swapping facilities. As Shanghai's temperatures soar, electricity demand escalates. The virtual power plant, as an innovative energy management solution, adeptly addresses peak electricity demand and ensures the seamless operation of the power grid.
