On June 12, news emerged that the National Federation of Ready-Mixed Concrete Transport Workers in South Korea has ceased concrete transportation operations in the Seoul metropolitan region starting Monday. The strike encompasses around 8,000 workers who are advocating for increased transport fees and other concessions. On Thursday, striking union members obstructed supplies from two concrete plants located in Pyeongtaek. This action resulted in the cessation of concrete pouring operations at Samsung Electronics' chip manufacturing facility. Insiders from the industry indicated that concrete pouring activities at SK Hynix's Yongin chip plant have also been halted due to these supply interruptions. SK Hynix mentioned that it has reordered its construction schedule and anticipates only a limited short-term impact, whereas Samsung refrained from making any comments.
