On June 5, 2026, Infineon announced that it will gradually transfer the semiconductor backend manufacturing functions (including wafer dicing, assembly, and testing) at its Tijuana, Mexico factory to other production sites and explore options such as sale for the future use of the facility. The company stated that the transition will not affect the supply of products to customers, with all products continuing to be delivered uninterrupted in the coming years. This adjustment aims to optimize the global production layout, enhance capacity, and bolster long-term competitiveness in response to cost pressures and structural industry transformation.
