Data released by the Passenger Car Association reveals that China's auto imports from January to June 2025 have plummeted to 220,000 units, marking a substantial year-on-year decrease of 32%. In the month of June alone, imports stood at a mere 43,000 units, representing a year-on-year drop of 30% and a month-on-month decline of 9%. Imports from key countries including Japan, Germany, and the United States have likewise exhibited a downward trajectory, underscoring the persistent pressure on the contracting imported car market. Notably, new energy vehicle imports fared poorly, with their market share dipping to just 2%.
